Okay, lets just start by saying Michael's, your no better than fucking Wal-Mart. Seriously. When I bought the yarn for "Operation Christmas Sweater" I was assured by many parties in my little circle 'o knitters that because I was smarter this time and purchased said yarn from Michael's, I SHOULD have no problem finding it again if I were to run out. (I'm not blaming them, I'm just saying.) Well, as you know from the last post and all my past experience, I ran out, however what I didn't know at the time (so obviously you didn't know either) is that Michael's was carrying the yarn as a "seasonal" item only and never again would they have it available in store.
So just a heads up, if you were thinking that it's "smarter" to purchase your yarn at Fancy Pants Michael's rather than the more convenient (to those of us living in the middle of butt fuck and you've got a purdy mouth) and less expensive Wal-Mart (gross) because Michael's has got to be more reliable.... They're not.
Anyway, on a lighter, more positive note, I was able to finish the sweater thanks to my knittin' pal, Dawn. She was (of course) smarter than me and purchased enough of the exact same yarn to FINISH her project and kindly allowed me to, as they politely say, "Nail the leftovers" so that I could finish my project.
Which brings me to my final point, an Ode to my knitting family....
It has recently come to my attention that I would be up to my armpits in badly dilapidated and unfinished projects if it weren't for you guys. You have saved my unprepared ass countless times, from coming up with the extra yarn I needed, to helping my backwards brain read the patterns I obviously can't interpret, and getting me through new skills that I refuse to learn. I really owe you guys like, 50 grand and a left nut for the amount of times you've helped me out.... of course I'm just gonna say thank you instead of giving you those things, 'cause really, who the fuck wants a left nut?
I guess that wasn't my final point, this is.....
if you don't have a knitting club, Fucking get one.
