Okay, so lets start off by stating the obvious, I'm a terrible, TERRIBLE knitter and really have no idea why I decided to blog about it. I've never blogged before and really, nothing that I have to say is worth reading..... but that's beside the point 'cause here you are looking to kill that other 5 minutes that facebook didn't already suck from your life.
Reasons as to why I feel that I am a terrible knitter....
1. I can read a pattern, but my interpretation is always slightly different because CLEARLY I know better than it does.
2. I refuse to check my guage
3. I religously run out of yarn before I finish the actual project
4. I don't knit for others
5. I refuse to learn new things
6. I constantly make shit up
7. I knit better when I'm drunk
that's probbably enough to get us started.....
I started this blog (ugh, saying blog makes my mouth feel gross) because I wanted to be able to go somewhere and have someone tell me what to knit when my current project has failed. In this case, I had been knitting a pair of "lil devil pants" for my 18 month old daughter (Muriel, AKA: M-bomb) from one of the Stitch 'n Bitch books. However, following rule number 3 of "reason's I'm a terrible knitter" (see above) I ran out of yarn. So once again I am left to wonder what I should make next.
I was thinking that I would take a pattern I have for a Henry Rollins doll, once again from that Stitch 'N Bitch book, and make a monster doll for my darling Muriel.... Following rules 1 and 6 from the above list. So we shall see just how well that goes. I think I have enough yarn, but given my limited skills and refusal to do things the correct way.... that monster doll might be a bit more frightening than anticipated. Wish me luck!
